The Uganda - UAE Business Forum is an annual event organised by the Uganda Embassy, Abu Dhabi and the Uganda Consulate General, Dubai that is aimed at attracting Foreign Direct Investment, promoting Uganda’s exports in UAE, promotion of tourism, attraction of technology transfers, projecting and creating linkages between the business community of both countries.
The Federal Authority of Identity, Citizenship, Customs, Port Security (ICP) announced on Thursday 01/08/2024, residence visa violators will be given a two-month grace period to get their fines waived.
The grace period, starting September 1, will exempt violators from any financial penalties in accordance with the Federal Law on the Entry and Residency of Foreigners.

The 24MWp Ituka PV will be the first solar PV project in the West Nile region.

On Saturday 25th May 2024, the Embassy of the Republic of Uganda in the United Arab Emirates participated in the celebration of the 61st Anniversary of the Africa Day. The celebration was held under the theme: “Educate an African Fit for the 21st Century: Building Resilient Education Systems for Increased Access to Inclusive, Lifelong, Quality, and Relevant Learning in Africa”. The celebration was organised by the Africa Group of Ambassadors and Chargé d’affaires to the United Arab Emirates. Uganda was part of the 38 missions resident in the UAE that took part in the celebration.
The Uganda Tourism Board and Emirates Airlines have on Wednesday 8 th May 2024
signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to drive inbound tourism and boost
visitors to Uganda, the Pearl of Africa.
Uganda has been awarded as the best investment destination for attracting the most
significant foreign direct investment (FDI) projects in Africa in 2023. The prestigious
award, the AIM Investment Award 2024, was presented to Hon. Evelyn Anite,
Minister of State for Investment at a gala dinner at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition
Centre (ADNEC) as part of the 13 the edition of the Annual Investment Meeting (AIM)
on 8 the May 2024.
Uganda’s winning projects included;
The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) of the United Arab Emirates has given
its approval to a request for Uganda Airlines to operate direct flights from Entebbe,
Uganda to Abu Dhabi.
The approval was conveyed on Wednesday 24 the April 2024 during a meeting
between H.E. Zaake W. Kibedi, Ambassador of the Republic of Uganda to the United
Arab Emirates and H.E. Omar Ghaleb, Deputy Director General of the GCAA.
The approval was premised on the pre-condition that Uganda Airlines fulfils all the
required formalities.
Uganda and UAE have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Experience Exchange in Government Development and Modernization. The MoU was signed on 13th February 2024 on the margins of the ongoing World Governments Summit in Dubai.
Gen. Odongo Jeje Abubakhar, Minister of Foreign Affairs signed the MoU on behalf of the Government of Uganda whereas H.E. Mohammad Abdullah AI Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs signed on behalf of the UAE.
