UGANDA WINS INVESTMENT AWARD IN ABU DHABI

Uganda has for the third time in a row has won an international investment award.
The country’s promotion agency, the Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) was recognized as the “Runner-up for Best Investment Promotion Agency in Africa”!
The prestigious award went to UIA for promoting and facilitating the private sector investors above her other counterparts on the continent.
The award was received at a colourful gala held at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi. The gala event is part of a series of events taking place on the sidelines of a three-day Annual Investment Meeting (AIM Congress 2025) which is taking place from 7-9 April 2025.
The AIM Global Awards 2025 Investment Awards aimed at recognising the best performing Investment Promotion Agencies across the global.
Now in the 14th Edition AIM, is an initiative of the AIM Foundation, an independent international organisation committed to empower the world’s economy by boosting effective promotion strategies and facilitating opportunities for economic productivity and expansion.
This year's AIM congress will be held under the theme "Mapping the Future of Global Investment: The New wave of a Globalized lnvestment Landscape - Towards a New Balanced world Structure.”
This year’s event has attracted decision makers, investors, experts, and academic figures from all over the world over 25,000 business players, conglomerates, business people representing 180 countries and 1,000 speakers.
“We thank the government of Uganda, the UAE, the UIA and the private sector for this joint concerted effort that made this achievement possible,” said the H.E Amb. Zaake Wanume Kibedi.
“We are participating in this global event to promote Uganda’s economic and commercial diplomacy,” Zaake Wanume Kibedi, Ambassador of Uganda to the UAE.
Uganda’s participation at the AIM 2025 is aimed at attracting Foreign Direct Investment to the country’s key economic sectors, increasing the private sector contribution to boosting sustainable development and increasing the GDP.
In attendance at the awards was the CEO of the Private Sector Uganda (PSFU) Mr. Stephen Asiimwe and Uganda’s Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UNCCI) Mr. Stephen Kalibbala.
Uganda has won this award three times in a row. This was in 2023,2024 and now 2025.
UIA submitted its bid for the award with over 50 agencies from other countries
